The Best wines for an Amazing Summer

For this evening,  we will team up with a quality wine importer called Sarment

Sarment’s General Manager, Manuel Rodrigues, designed a wine pairing with his best picks to be enjoyed during the summer. He will make you travel around Europe: from Corsica to Burgundy and Italy.

For those who might not be able to travel this summer, we will bring you the European Summer Feeling!

Our Premium venue: Tokyo American Club

Tokyo’s premier private members’ club provides many of the city’s elite expats a cushy place to hang out.

You do not need to be a TAC member to join that public event.

We will following Tokyo Governor’s instructions with:

checking everybody’s body temperature at entrance

asking everybody to wear a mask

providing an air exchange in the room with doors open

providing liquid sanitizer to wash your hands

layout will be “social distance” style except for couples

Originally from Portugal, Manuel and his family moved to the famous wine-making region of Chablis in Burgundy in the east of France when he was just a boy.
Manuel’s love for wines began at the tender age of 12, when he worked alongside his father in the vineyards. There, he helped to toil the land, pruning and harvesting grapes, experiences that fostered in him a deep respect for the hard work behind the enjoyment of a fine bottle of wine.
Manuel has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in wine over the past 15 years. He got his start at One Michelin Star Hostellerie des Clos, in Chablis, Burgundy when he was just 16 years old, and then to 2 Michelin Star Le Grand Hotel du Lion D’or in Loire Valley.
Manuel then took up a position as a sommelier at the world’s most luxury hotel, the Burj Al Arab in Dubai in 2006, then he served as an Assistant Head Sommelier at Ossiano, a renowned restaurant opened by 3 Michelin Star Spanish Chef Santi Santamaria at Dubai’s resort development, Atlantis, the Palm.
He moved to Singapore as Chef Sommelier at the St-Regis Hotel where he spent 4 Years.
Manuel came to Japan as Wine Director of the Grand Hyatt Tokyo in 2014 where he worked for over 2 years before opening  Sarment Japan in 2016.
